Dimmers

Most fitting using incandescent bulbs are suitable for dimmers.

All dimmers will produce some noise at either the dimmer or the light fitting. This is quite normal and doesn’t indicate a fault. Excessive noise or pulsations indicates the wrong dimmer choice. Florescent energy saving bulbs generally are not suitable for dimmers unless otherwise stated.

Do not overload Dimmer Switches when using mains halogen bulbs such as GU10, G9 and R7 bulbs, and always make sure you have the correct dimmer switch when using Low Voltage bulbs.
